"Science is the way we will ultimately find God. God doesn't think in English with an Indian accent. God is an astronomer and a chemist and everything that gives us clues to the secrets of nature. With the technology that's almost at our doorstep, we will begin to go deeper into the secrets of material reality, then quantum reality and as we dive even deeper into the secrets, virtual reality and there we will find divinity." - Deepak Chopra

Re: Einstein's quote | ||
|
"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift."
--Albert Einstein A very excellent quotation! At the time Einstein said it all of it was true. Our society has changed some tho. More people honor the intuitive mind as a sacred gift now. Good thing. Now parts of society don't honor the servant of reason. Balance is needed. Agree or disagree? |

dalai lama quote | ||
Quote:what do you think the dalai lama's point is here? is he saying we should dedicate ourselves to transforming others, or is he saying we must first develop peace within ourself before trying to change the world? i think it's the latter |

Re: dalai lama quote | ||

hey i will tell you what it is, lol lol lmao........only in my opinion
all those battles we have in life, all those we fight with in life, learn how to walk into these in harmony and you will have a clue, a picture of how the world can do it. if you cannot even live in peace in your life than how do you have a clue how it can be done universally. now whether that goes with the quote is or not, dont remember, read too long ago |

I disagree with"Although it is difficult, the only way to bring about world peace is through attempting the internal transformation of individuals."
From my POV-- "The most obvious way to bring about world peace is through the internal transormation of ourselves." Nitpickers night |

dalai lama quote | ||
|
here is a wider view. anyone want to change their answer?
"Although attempting to bring about world peace through the internal transformation of individuals is difficult it is the only way. Peace must first be developed within an individual. And I believe that love, compassion, and altruism are the fundamental basis for peace. Once these qualities are developed within an individual, he or she is then able to create an atmosphere of peace and harmony. This atmosphere can be expanded and extended from the individual to his family, from the family to the community and eventually to the whole world." His Holiness The Dalai Lama forward to PEACE IS EVERY STEP by Thich Naht Hanh |
