A personal experience years ago taught me that hating only harmed me, not the person I hated, so I forgave them but never have forgotten what they had done. It was an educational experience that has served me well during similar circumstances. Forgiveness grants peace of mind; remembering grants wisdom? The Real Maggie

to forgive means there is judgement. if there isnt judgement there will never be a need to forgive.

SEA: Truer words have never been spoken than your statement on Judgement; however, I am only human and always learning. Maybe someday I will cease to have to forgive to attain my own peace of mind since how I feel does nothing to the person I am in the process of judging. Right? You comments are excellent! thanks for bring this up again, gnomey, and for the great, as usual, link.
recently, i have been reminded, again, of the significance of our feelings and emotions in regards to other people and circumstances. when we carry anger and resentment towards others, we are only damaging ourselves, really. if circumstances in our lives are painful for a time, we can't let ourselves get drawn into a blaming mode or we will only be diminishing our capabilities in dealing effectively with our circumstances. if we can find a way to see the loving lessons we are offered, by even the most horrendous events, and the opportunities that can come with struggles we had not anticipated, we can grow and adapt more easily, overcome and survive, exist in joy and thrive. it is a great challenge, sometimes, and sometimes we may fail, falling into anger and madness for a while. but, if we can forgive ourselves these setbacks, chalk them up to reminders of how we still have work to do on ourselves, we can get our power back, regain our sanity, somewhat, and evolve closer to the ideal we would manifest, a loving, healthy, happy human being. may all find their way to the other shore. love LL Love
